Fire In Open

At 14:34 on Monday, 25 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Welshampton, Ellesmere.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Wem and Whitchurch.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Out of control bonfire which had spread to approximately 30x30m of hedgerow and 30x30m of field. Crews used two hose reel jets and one main jet to extinguish fire.
