At 20:08 on Thursday, 28 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving discarded grass cuttings, crews used one hose reel jet, one high pressure lance, drag rakes and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.
