At 06:03 on Tuesday, 9 September, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Newport, Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Thermal imaging camera

Reports of fire on the Wrekin. Crews investigating supported by two Incident Support Units from Tweedale and Newport. Thorough search carried out, nothing found.
