At 07:54 on Saturday, 11 October, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Wem.

3 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Wellington and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

1 horse released from a fieldside brook in a two foot depth of water, using strops.
