At 07:34 on Tuesday, 28 October, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Oswestry and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: a vet.

An 18 month old cow which was trapped in a 6ft ditch was rescued by crews using animal rescue harnesses and straps as well as the farmers manitou.
