Specialist Crews from Shrewsbury are currently in attendance on the A49 at Marshbrook assisting Highways in clearing excess flood water from this difficult part of the road to enable both lanes to be safely opened causing minimal delays to drivers.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service would like to remind all motorists that driving through flood water is dangerous.
“Let me be clear; driving through flood water is dangerous. It is difficult to tell exactly how deep the water is and obstacles will be hidden, there is no guarantee that there are not uncovered manholes. Just one foot of flowing water may be enough to move the average family car.”
