At 16:54 on Wednesday, 24 December, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wellington.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Fire measuring approx 2 meters squared containing rubbish which was extinguished by crews using a hose reel jet and drag rakes.
