At 14:23 on Saturday, 27 December, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smell Of Burning in Ellesmere.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry.

This was found to be a false alarm made with good intent. No signs or smell of smoke found by crews investigating.
