At 22:05 on Wednesday, 18 February, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Cleobury Mortimer.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Short extension ladder
  • Small gear

Smoke alarms cost as little as £5 and are available at most DIY stores. It is recommended that smoke alarms should be fitted on the ceiling one per floor and they should be 30cm away from walls or light fittings (Usually top and bottom of stairs). Smoke alarms should be tested weekly by pressing the button to briefly activate the alarm. Change the battery once a year (unless it's a ten year alarm) and gently vacuum the alarm twice a year to remove dust from the sensors.
