At 19:09 on Tuesday, 10 March, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Telford.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

False alarm caused by children gaining access to site of a small controlled burn and throwing aerosols on to the fire. The site has now been made secure by land owner. Advice given, nothing in use

Build bonfires well clear of buildings and never use flammable liquids to start the fire. Before you light the bonfire, check that children and animals are not hiding inside and are a safe distance away. Don't leave bonfires unattended. Don't light bonfires in unsuitable weather conditions.
