At 15:25 on Sunday, 6 September, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance including the Water Rescue Unit was mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire Service Personnel have rescued a swan with a broken wing from the river using boat crews. An RSPCA officer was in attendance and requested our assistance.
