At 06:36 on Saturday, 12 September, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Ellesmere.

7 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Ellesmere, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews are proceeding following reports of 2 cows stuck in the canal at Ellesmere. Both cows walked out of the canal - no action by Fire Service Personnel
