RTC HGV Persons Trapped

At 18:28 on Wednesday, 25 November, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as RTC HGV Persons Trapped in Oswestry.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Oswestry and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency, the Police, the RSPCA and a vet.

Road Traffic Collision involving one large goods vehicle which has tipped on its side and come to rest on carriageway. No persons trapped, one male conveyed to hospital via land Ambulance. Approximately 500 sheep from overturned lorry transferred onto awaiting livestock lorries. 4 hose reel jets, and environment grab pack used to stem diesel leaking from tank.
