At 18:55 on Thursday, 16 June, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Hanwood.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Chimney rods
• Hosereel jet
• Small gear

Chimney fire caused nesting birds as a result of not having had the chimney swept.
