At 13:39 on Thursday, 24 August, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Longdon on Tern.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Newport, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire involving 200sqm of barley and straw. Hose reel jets, beaters and farm supplied water bowser in use.
