At 02:20 on Wednesday, 4 July, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Fire involving three hay bales. Crews extinguished using one extended hose reel jet.
