At 10:12 on Monday, 27 August, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Chimney rods
• Line rescue
• Short extension ladder
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving domestic chimney. Due to difficult access, line safety equipment used to access chimney.
