At 00:13 on Sunday, 17 February, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Whitchurch.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Hodnet, Prees, Shrewsbury, Wem and Whitchurch. Operations, Hazmat and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet
  • Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.

Commercial building fire, measuring 50m x20m, 70% destroyed by fire. Incident sectorised with Fire Fighting carried out by crews from Prees, Wem and Whitchurch, with Operational Officers also on scene. Relief crews from Hodnet and Shrewsbury also attended. Fire investigation taking place.
