At 12:35 on Monday, 2 December, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport and Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

Small bonfire extinguished using one hose reel jet due to concerns of proximity to petrol station.
