At 18:45 on Sunday, 8 March, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Newnes, Ellesmere .

2 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Chimney rods
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera
