At 15:02 on Saturday, 1 August, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet

Fire involving approx. 100 square metres of grass and stubble, crews are using one extended hose reel jet and beaters
