National Fire Sprinkler Week 2015

National Fire Sprinkler Week 2015

During Fire Sprinkler Week 2015, March 16th-22nd, Shropshire Fire And Rescue Service will be raising awareness of the benefits of sprinklers to businesses, with higher risk premises in particular being highlighted, through a series of seminars.

The theme of the week is Business Continuity, focusing on the support that fitting automatic fire sprinkler systems, can provide to business and social continuity. Our seminar programme will be specifically taylored to emphasising these areas to managers of Residential Care Premises. See here for details of our upcoming seminars.

The objectives of the week are also to:

  • Encourage businesses to consider how fitting sprinklers can not only protect people and their valuable assets, but also, through mitigating the effects of fire, assist them in achieving business continuity.
  • To promote the economic, social and business benefits of having sprinklers, to business owners and leaders, dispelling some of the myths concerning sprinklers.

Please see Fire Sprinkler Week 2015, for more information.

Sprinklers save lives- in properties where sprinklers are fitted, the risk of death or injury from fire is greatly reduced, particularly in the homes of those more vulnerable, or in buildings of increased risk, such as high rise flats, where escape may be more difficult.
