At 16:35 on Friday, 27 July, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Rudge Heath.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit was mobilised from Bridgnorth.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Fire involving bonfire of household goods out of control set fire to approx. 100sqm of grass, fogging unit from incident support unit used

Build bonfires well clear of buildings and never use flammable liquids to start the fire. Before you light the bonfire, check that children and animals are not hiding inside and are a safe distance away. Don't leave bonfires unattended. Don't light bonfires in unsuitable weather conditions.

One car and approx. 5mx5m of grass involved in fire, two hose reel jets used

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving 5m x 15m of field - crews have used 2 horse reel jets, 1 foggin pump, 1 thermal imaging camera and drag rakes to extinguish the fire.

  • Knapsacks

Fire involving grass and undergrowth near to woods locally known as The Cockshutt. Crews are using an extended hose reel jet, a knapsack sprayer and beaters to extinguish the fire.
