At 15:24 on Saturday, 16 July, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit and the Water Carrier was mobilised from Market Drayton, Oswestry, Wem and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Main jet
• Shovels/Forks/Brooms

Fire involving approximately 30m x 10m of peat and undergrowth. Beaters, shovels, main jet and misting lance in use.

At 15:25 on Wednesday, 13 July, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Crewe.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Market Drayton, Telford and Whitchurch. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

This incident involved an area of cut grass, hedgerow and small trees measuring approximately 100m x 50m. One appliance from Crewe was also in attendance at this incident.

3 fire appliances including the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

This incident involved the burning of commercial waste. Fire service personnel used two hose reel jets and two main jets to extinguish the fire.

5 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Welfare Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. Operations, Fire Investigation, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation

Building fire, crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main jet, one covering jet and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Much Wenlock and Telford Central. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation
• Short extension ladder
• Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

This incident involved a timber built garage, lean to shed and attached living accommodation. Two casualties were assessed by the ambulance service

• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving ground floor room, which has spread to first floor. Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one covering jet to extinguish. Property ventilated, and inspected with thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
