Request detail:

We are currently looking at a site as part of a desk study and available information for the site we have identified that the building immediately abutting our site was part of a substantial fire back in 2007.

We were wondering if you held any records on the damage caused in the incident and the details of any fire fighting techniques used etc. I have included below a snapshot out the report including the date of the incident and the environment incident.

The site address is Unit C, Halesfield 10, Telford, TF7 4QP

Response detail:

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) stopped using Angus Alcoseal AFFF Traditional Firefighting Foam in 2009. This product contained PFOS.

SFRS do not hold any recorded incident data.

In relation to the incident in question we have some purely anecdotal information from the Watch Manager who attended this incident. They have recalled that no firefighting foam was used at this incident, only copious amounts of water supplied through our Aerial Ladder Platform and that the fire involved mattress and other foam products. Again, this recollection is anecdotal and cannot be relied upon as a true factual account of the incident as we do not hold any recorded data of this incident.

If you are unhappy with the way your request for information has been handled, you can complain or request an internal review of the decision.
