At 04:35 on Monday, 18 July, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Baschurch.
6 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Hosereel jet
- Positive Pressure Ventilation
- Thermal imaging camera
Fire involving kitchen area of single storey property. Four breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, thermal image camera and positive pressure ventilation fan in use.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Tweedale and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Hosereel jet
Fire involving 1st floor bedroom of a two storey derelict cottage. Two hose reel jets and 2 breathing apparatus in use. The road has been closed by T&W council whilst crews deal with fire.

At 17:48 on Saturday, 16 July, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Wellington.
2 fire appliances were mobilised from Wellington. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Hosereel jet
- Positive Pressure Ventilation
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .
Small fire in kitchen caused by food in microwave. 1 male casualty conveyed to hospital via land ambulance with smoke inhalation.

Most kitchen fires occur when people are distracted or leave things unattended.
- Never use a toaster under a shelf or kitchen cupboard - pull it out from under the cupboard when in use.
- Don't hang wet or damp tea towels on the cooker to dry.
- Dirty grill pans and ovens cause fires. Help keep them clean.
- When using a microwave read the cooking instructions carefully, ensure you don't put in any metal objects.
- Kettles can cause serious burns from the steam, make sure you don't lean over the kettle when it'.s boiling.
