This incident was found to be a false alarm with good intent due to a controlled burn. Advice has been given.

Fire in a cell within the prison which was extinguished by prison staff prior to Fire Service arrival. No action by Fire Service

Incident caused by malfunction in generator. Crews isolated generator and carried out thorough inspection of premise.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Hodnet and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera
• Triple/Short extension ladder

Report of light smoke issuing on ground floor. Thorough search carried out by fire service personnel. Crews isolated electrics and gave advice.
