Response detail:

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.  Please see responses below

 January 2018 to present day

1)      How many operational incidents has your fire service attended involving

the following? – See attached excel document

a)      Timber construction buildings

b)      Photovoltaic Solar equipment

c)      Other renewable energy sources

d)      Building façade and wall systems involving insulation materials

e)      Building façade and wall systems involving timber

f)      Green walls and roof systems

g)      Energy storage systems such as lithium batteries

2)      Do you identify and record specific data regarding the location and status

of specific risks related to sustainable/green buildings for operational purposes? If so, please provide an example.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service collect data on all operational risk presented to us. The common theme of sustainable green buildings would be those containing a high number of solar panels. An example would be a major oil producer in Shrewsbury.

3)      Do you identify and record specific data regarding the location and status

of specific risks related to sustainable/green buildings for fire safety purposes? If so, please provide an example.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service record two areas – Fire fighter hazards and premises features within the audit form and share with Service Delivery if appropriate. These do not directly state sustainable/green but if that feature had an impact the service would record.

Currently there are no pre-set fields that would cover this criteria in fire fighter hazards. The service use the free text. An example would be large amounts of solar panels.
