At 17:14 on Wednesday, 19 July, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Aircraft Light in Much Wenlock.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Pinzgauer were mobilised from Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Much Wenlock and Wellington. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet

1 private light aircraft 80% destroyed by fire after landing. 1 casualty treated for minor cuts by Fire Service personnel.
