At 19:33 on Thursday, 14 September, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Waters Upton.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

One hatchback car fully involved in fire has been extinguished by fire service personnel.
