1. How many wildfires did your fire brigade deal with from 2017 to 2022? Please break down your response by year, size of fire, date, cause and if possible, location.

2. Please let me know any new equipment your service has purchased or plans to purchase in the last 5 years to combat wildfires.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have purchased the following equipment:
Drone, this assists with situational awareness
Wildfire Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the welfare of our crews.
Please note that we have also upskilled our incident commanders with training and one of our officers has recently become a National Resilience Wildfire Tactical Advisor. Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) 2021-2025 details how the Service will keep communities - and those that visit - safe over this four year period. SFRS do not record the cost of incidents, however, an indicative cost can however be calculated based upon the equivalent of the special services charges tariffs for the relevant financial year which are published on our website here:

This gives you the cost per hour for the type of vehicle that attended. This can be calculated using the number and type of vehicles in attendance and the length of time they were in attendance.
The appliances/asset types are identified in the list published here Updated Callsigns | Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service. Callsigns prefixed with an A, G or S are officer vehicles rather than appliances which we have no special services charges for.
