At 04:52 on Thursday, 5 October, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as AFA in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Ellesmere.

This incident was found to be a false alarm caused by a system fault.
