At 08:01 on Friday, 12 January, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Newport.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Incident involved fire in garage, crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.
