At 10:21 on Friday, 1 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Shrewsbury .

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

One sheep rescued from river using powered boat. Animal now in care of owner.
