At 16:20 on Saturday, 9 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smoke In Area in Welshpool.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Minsterley.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Smoke issuing from piles of wood chip, crews extinguished using drag rakes and 2 hose reel jets
