At 16:54 on Wednesday, 27 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire Persons Reported in Wem .

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Hodnet, Wem and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Fire within kitchen of property. One person rescued from building by fire service.
