At 17:25 on Wednesday, 5 June, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wellington .

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

Fire involving domestic waste in cages measuring approximately 4 meters squared. Crews used one hosereel jet to extinguish. This is believed to be deliberate ignition.
