At 15:15 on Saturday, 22 June, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Oakengates.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Reports of field on fire measuring approximately 10 metres by 10 metres. Fire crews used 2 hose reel jets.
