At 20:37 on Tuesday, 20 August, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Telford.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.

One car well alight on westbound carriageway of M54.
