At 13:14 on Sunday, 11 January, 2026, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smoke In Area in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Oswestry.

Smoke coming from top of the hill which was found to be a controlled burn.
