Shropshire Fire & Rescue control room received a call at 00:15 from the occupier of a house in Bembridge Brookside Telford. The caller was trapped inside her property along with her two children aged 2 and 3 years old. The Fire Control Operator stayed on the line with the caller until the crews arrived at her property; reassuring and giving fire safety advice throughout. Upon arrival the crews discovered a fire involving a chip pan located in the ground floor kitchen of the property. The mother and her children were located immediately in a first floor bedroom and rescued by a Fire Fighter wearing Breathing Apparatus using a short extension ladder that was put up to the window. The casualties received treatment by the Ambulance service at the scene. The fire in the kitchen was extinguished using 2 Hose Reel Jets and 1 Covering Jet.
