Happy Valentine's Day
If planning a romantic evening at home this Valentine's, make sure you get the hottest safety tips.
We wish everyone a happy, safe and romantic Valentines day/evening. We don't want it to end in disaster!
A Below are cooking and home safety tips:
- Never leave cooking unattended. Leaving cooking unattended is the biggest cause of accidental house fires. When cooking on the cooker hob, we advise, to stay with your cooking.
- Get rid of that old style chip pan. We would advise not to use a chip pan and purchase a thermostatic controlled electric deep fat fryer that would regulate heat.
- Keep cooker and grill clean. Keeping the oven, hob and grill clean and in good working order will prevent the build-up of fat and grease that could ignite and cause a fire.
- Don’t store anything on the cooker, including oven gloves or tea towels.
- Take extra care when wearing loose clothing whilst cooking, they can easily catch fire.
- Make sure the oven, hob and grill is turned off when you have finished cooking.
- If trying to create a romantic atmosphere, please ensure candles are not left unattended and stub them out once the evening is finished.
- Check your smoke alarms work, push the button to hear the beep.
