At 16:23 on Tuesday, 29 August, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Ellesmere.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Main jet

Approximately 82 tonnes of straw alight. Crews using 2 main jets to damp down and protect surrounding area.
