At 09:12 on Saturday, 18 January, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smell Of Burning in Princess Royal Hospital, Apley Castle, Telford.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Wellington.

Report of smell of burning inside hospital. This was found to be a false alarm possibly caused by smoke entering the hospital from an external fire in the vicinity.
