Theatre Severn hosted a long service and good conduct awards ceremony last night for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) staff.

Lisa Baer, 53-years-old from Prees has shared her story of becoming an on-call firefighter with her local fire station.

Lisa is a full time Financial Controller in Law Exports and decided to become part of the Service after her daughter was involved in a serious road traffic collision.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have been in attendance at a water incident in Shrewsbury.

The Service was called at around 1.15pm today (Tuesday) to reports that a man was in distress in the River Severn near The English Bridge.
