At 09:30 on Thursday, 14 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Field Of Straw in Claverley.

13 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Market Drayton, Newport, Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. Operations, Safety, Principal and Specialist Advisor officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet
• Shovels/Forks/Brooms

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

Incident involves approximately 2 hectares of grass. Crews have extinguished fire and utilised use of the drone to check area for hot spots and fire spread. Assistance given by Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Small gear

This incident involved corn on fire within a combine harvester. Crews used small tools and hosereel jets to damp down.

Also at the scene of the incident were: a utility company.

One tree branch which had come into contact with electrical cable causing arcing. National grid informed and requested to attend. No action required by fire service.

Reports of a bonfire which had spread to dry grass in fields. The fire was out on arrival of crews, but crews dampened down the surrounding area with a fogging unit from the Incident Support Unit.

Fire involving pizza and pizza box in oven. This fire was out on arrival of crews. The contents of the oven has been removed to outside and dampened down with a hose. Further check of property carried out using a thermal imaging camera.

Numerous seats of fire between Eardington and Eardington Station near the Severn Valley Railway line. Crews are using hose reel jets and fogging units to extinguish the fire.
