At 17:52 on Saturday, 15 November, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Ratlinghope.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Church Stretton and Minsterley.

Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Road traffic collision involving two vehicles, no persons trapped. Crews made vehicles and scene safe.

At 13:03 on Thursday, 30 October, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Kitchen Fire in Acton Burnell.

3 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton and Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)

Most kitchen fires occur when people are distracted or leave things unattended.

  • Never use a toaster under a shelf or kitchen cupboard - pull it out from under the cupboard when in use.
  • Don't hang wet or damp tea towels on the cooker to dry.
  • Dirty grill pans and ovens cause fires. Help keep them clean.
  • When using a microwave read the cooking instructions carefully, ensure you don't put in any metal objects.
  • Kettles can cause serious burns from the steam, make sure you don't lean over the kettle when it'.s boiling.

RTC involving bus and HGV. No persons trapped but 4 casualties treated by fire service personnel prior to arrival of ambulance service.
