2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Domestic terrace property struck by lightning, causing small hole in roof. Small quantity of loft content affected. One light switch burnt out by power surge - no fire. Loft and property inspected using thermal image camera.

At 15:20 on Wednesday, 18 May, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Shrewsbury.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Kitchen fire that has spread to the roof space of neighbouring property. Eight breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets and 1 main jet in use. An 85 year old male has been assessed for smoke inhalation but did not require hospital treatment
