At 12:49 on Tuesday, 2 January, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Highley.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Shrewsbury and Telford. An Operations officer was in attendance.

False alarm raised with good intent by a passer-by, due to a vehicle being seen in floodwater with no requirement for assistance.
