At 19:01 on Sunday, 6 October, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Shrewsbury.

6 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Minsterley and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

Fire service mobilised to reports of a canoe in the weir. Thorough search of river carried out, no persons found.
